Luxury Dog Grooming in Bishop Auckland

Dog grooming can range in price with each groomer. At Dog & Throne each dog is individually assessed and we take in to account your dog's size, coat type and condition, temperament and behaviour, and any other issues it may have. Our spa treatments are a set price and are added to the cost of the groom.

Before welcoming a new dog for their first groom, we arrange a complimentary Meet & Treat consultation at the salon.

This gives us the opportunity to meet you and your dog, discuss their grooming history, coat care needs and any individual requirements, while allowing your dog to become familiar with us and the salon environment.

Following the consultation, if we’re both happy to proceed, we can discuss the most suitable grooming service, provide an estimated price and arrange their first appointment.

Card details are required to securely confirm all grooming appointments.

Yes, we can get fully booked very quickly, as do most dog groomers. To avoid disappointment it's important to book early and if possible, we recommend to book your next few grooms in advance to lock in your preferred slots. 

You will receive an allocated arrival time with your appointment confirmation. Please arrive promptly, ideally within 10 minutes of this time, as this helps us keep the salon running smoothly and allows us to complete your dog’s groom in a calm, unhurried environment.

When you arrive, we’ll have a quick chat about your dog and anything you would like us to be aware of before their groom. We’ll also confirm the style and finish you would like.

Your dog will stay with us while their groom is completed. Once they are ready to go home, we’ll send you a text message to let you know. We kindly ask that you collect them within 15 minutes of receiving this message, unless another arrangement has been agreed with us.

At collection, we’ll invite you to have a look over your dog to make sure you’re happy with their groom. Payment will then be taken either cash or card, or using the card securely held on file.

Every dog is different and will depend on the breed, coat type, and lifestyle. Although each dog has their unique requirements, we can advise on duration of grooms based on our experience and adjust as necessary as we move forward.

It is important to socialise your puppy as soon as possible with all of the different experiences that they will encounter in the grooming salon. This should be done on a regular basis to ease them in gently and not overwhelm them from a young age. They can start as soon as they are fully vaccinated at 12 weeks. We offer a puppy grooming package to set them off on the right path to avoid unnecessary stress in the grooming salon as they grow up.
