Dog Grooming FAQs

Please reach us at hello@dogandthrone.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Each dog is individually assessed and we take in to account your dog's size, coat type and condition, temperament and behaviour, and any other issues it may have. Our spa treatments are a set price and are added to the cost of the groom.

It is important that we speak to you prior to booking an appointment so that we can get the relevant information before agreeing to groom your dog and giving an estimated price. You can send us a message via our website, email, social media, or text and we'll arrange a convenient time to call and chat about your dog. A 50% deposit of the estimated price is required upon booking to secure your dog's appointment.

Yes, we can get fully booked very quickly, as do most dog groomers. To avoid disappointment it's important to book early and if possible, we recommend to book your next few grooms in advance to lock in your preferred slots.

You will have received an allocated arrival time in your appointment confirmation. It is important that arrive within 10 minutes of that time to allow us to complete your dog's groom with minimal stress.

On arrival we will have a quick chat about your dog and any worries/problems you have with them. If it is your first appointment with us, we will need you to agree to our terms and provide any further information required.

Your dog will stay with us until completion of the groom, at which point you will receive a text message to notify you that it is ready for collection. You should arrive within 15 minutes of receiving the message to avoid any surcharges.

Upon collection of your dog, we will ask you to have a look over them to ensure you are happy with the groom and pay the remaining 50% of the grooming fee.

Don't forget to take a picture of them on our throne and post on Facebook to enter our monthly draw.

Every dog is different and will depend on the breed, coat type, and lifestyle. Although each dog has their unique requirements, we can advise on duration of grooms based on our experience and adjust as necessary as we move forward.

It is important to socialise your puppy as soon as possible with all of the different experiences that they will encounter in the grooming salon. This should be done on a regular basis to ease them in gently and not overwhelm them from a young age. They can start as soon as they are fully vaccinated at 12 weeks. We offer a puppy grooming package to set them off on the right path to avoid unnecessary stress in the grooming salon as they grow up.

Teeth Cleaning FAQs

Please reach us at hello@dogandthrone.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.

The toothbrush emits 96 million ultrasonic waves per minute that, when combined with water and special toothpaste, create microscopic bubbles that break down the bacteria, plaque, and tartar from your dog’s teeth

This depends on their current dental health. Some dogs benefit from a few initial treatments followed by regular maintenance every 4-6 weeks.

For most dogs, yes. Some dogs it may not be though as they may have dental issues that need veterinary treatment prior to teeth cleaning. This will be advised on your consultation prior to any appointments.

Some dogs show improvement after just one session, while others with heavier tartar build up may need a series of treatments to achieve the best results.

Not at all! There is no noise, vibration, or manual brushing involved, making it stress-free for even the most sensitive dogs. Some dogs might not like their mouth being touched which can make the process a little longer.

Sessions typically last around 30-45 minutes, depending on your dog’s cooperation and the level of tartar build up.
